Manchester United have already conceded 40 goals in 29 Premier League games this term i.e. 22 more goals than current league leaders and reigning champions, Manchester City.
The Red Devils must tighten things at the back to have any chance of challenging for the title in the coming years.
Transfer: £200,000-a-week star backed to agree Manchester United move
The Old Trafford outfit are linked with a number of top defenders and they have been linked with Uruguayan international, Ronald Araujo, for quite some time.
According to Spanish source, Nacional, skipper Harry Maguire has been criticized a lot this term and United lack a leader. They will have ample transfer kitty to strengthen the squad in the summer and want to sign the Barcelona star.
The Catalan giants have so far failed to agree a new contract with the South American center back and the 20-time English champions can take advantage of the situation.
It is stated that Man United promise to hand Araujo a lucrative contract and are readying a bid worth 40 million euros (£33.6million) to get his signing done.
The 23-year-old central defender is now a key figure at the Nou Camp and has helped strengthen Xavi’s backline. He is not only solid at the back but also productive in the attacking third.
So far, Araujo has netted 4 goals this term. Last night, he scored with a thumping header against arch-rivals Real Madrid and helped the team keep the clean sheet as well (4-0).
Man United surely need better central defenders than Maguire, Jones, Lindelof and Bailly. Do you think they should bid £33.6million to sign Ronald Araujo?
