According to a recent report covered by Corriere da Manha (via Sport Witness), the Old Trafford outfit were impressed by the youngster’s performance against Arsenal in the Europa League.
The news outlet have mentioned that Man United are ready to move to sign him from Sporting CP. The Liga Nos club are aware of the interest and are looking to get a fee of 35 million euros from the player’s sale.
On the other hand, Record claim the Lions want to hold on to the player and are looking to extend his contract.
The renowned Portuguese news source have mentioned that Inacio’s current deal is due to expire in 2026 and it has a release clause of 45 million euros (£40million).
It is stated that Sporting want to offer the 21-year-old a pay rise, increase the release clause to 60 million euros and extend the deal for a year i.e. until 2027.
The backline has largely improved under Ten Hag. Man United have already kept 11 clean sheets in the Premier League, whereas, last season, they only kept 8 clean sheets.
Harry Maguire has started 5 games in the PL, all as captain, this season and needs to leave to play regular first team football. If the England international departs then Ten Hag must sign a CB to replace him.
Inacio has won two Portuguese league cup titles, one Super Cup and one Primeira Liga trophy with Sporting CP. He has already made over 100 senior appearances for the Jose Alvalade Stadium outfit.
