Manchester United are seriously looking to improve their strike-force in the winter transfer window and now Raul Jimenez is in the lime light.

Transfer: £200,000-a-week star could sign for Man United this month – Report

As per the Spanish version (Goal), even City are interested in luring the Mexican international but Guardiola is prepared to wait and will not seek reinforcements in the middle of the campaign. However, it is mentioned that Man Utd are rushing to secure the signing of the 28-year-old center forward this month.

The renowned outlet have claimed that Wolves do not want to lose their prized asset, who is valued at over 60 million euros (£51million), this season. However, as per Nuno Espirito Santo’s recent comments, the Portuguese manager has not ruled out the sale of his star striker in January.

It must be remembered that at the moment, Wolves are just a point behind Man Utd in the table and six points behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot (4th). The West Midlands club will face Espanyol next month in the Europa League’s Round of 32.

The former Benfica goalscorer has been brilliant since moving to the Premier League. He has already scored against the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal. Last season, he directly contributed in 25 goals in 40 starts in all competitions (on loan) and the Molineux outfit rightly decided to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.

His form has further improved in the current campaign. So far, in 29 starts, the striker has already netted 17 goals and provided 9 assists in all competitions.

Man United failed to replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer and after losing out out on signing Mandzukic and Haaland, they must act swiftly to sign a top center forward this month. In such a scenario, Jimenez would be a quality signing if the Red Devils can somehow secure his services.

In your view, should Man United move in with an offer to sign Raul Jimenez in the winter transfer window?

  1. First choice as of Today should be either Arturo Vidal and Semedo of Barcelona or ZIYECH before we buy either Raul of Fernandez because our biggest problem is failure to replace midfielders and a forceful number 10.

Raul is a number 9. I think we don’t have a bulldozer in the middle that can push others when there is a no through road like Vidal and ZIYECH. Semedu is the best to take Hereras place. Madison is to quiet.

I checked his tapes. I don’t see much difference between him and the players we already have like Perera. Our players are simply on the low because of the gaps in the middle.

Since Martial is injury prone, Fernandez or Raul could fill up the gaps. But first positions to fill are numbers 6 and 10.

  2. Don’t take too much time to lower the price of Vidal. 17 million is a joke!!!!! If an VERY VERY AVERAGE player like Longstaff goes at around 50 million don’t you think Vidal and Semedo are a give away at around 30 million?

Madison is on fire now only because he is in a team that’s on fire. We are blind to the workforce of Ineacho and Grey that make Madisson the player on Fire. We really don’t need another Lindgard or Perera. We already have too many at that level.

Aturo Vidal and ZIYECH are the pushing players we need. Semedu and Fernandez are could be a good addition to either score more goals or place the ball in the right places.

Raul is a good finisher coming at a good price. But he should be a 3rd choice. PLEASE RECTIFY THE MIDDLE WITH A TOP NUMBER 6 AND 10 BEFORE you get Raul

  3. Any new striker signing will be better and is crucial to replace the ineffective Anthony Martial.

  4. I completely agree with Xina. We don’t need another Lingard in our team. We need a complete number 10. Somebody who can fill in that role well. In my opinion Martial is not bad he is just not getting the right support from the his number 10.
