Man United submit £58million offer to sign versatile midfielder – Report

Federico-Valverde-Real-Madrid

Manchester United signed Eriksen and Casemiro to reinforce their midfield last summer and lured Sabitzer (on loan) to replace the injured Danish star in the winter transfer window.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have moved in with an offer to sign another midfielder in the form of Federico Valverde.

According to Spanish source, Nacional, Man Utd have submitted a £58million offer (65 million euros) to sign the Uruguayan international, who is having a torrid time at Real Madrid.

In the summer, Liverpool were heavily linked with the South American midfielder and even offered a fee of 100 million euros. However, the bid was turned down by Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez, who considers Valverde an extremely important member of the team.

Last season, the 24-year-old star played a key role in helping Madrid win the La Liga and set up the winning goal in the final of the Champions League vs Liverpool.

This season, in the first 12 league appearances, the former Penarol player scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists under Ancelotti.

However, since October, his form has been average. The Uruguayan has not scored or created a single goal in the last eight league games.

In turn, Madrid have been inconsistent and are now eight points behind league leaders and arch rivals, Barcelona, in the table.

The Catalan media outlet claim United want to take advantage of the current situation and on Erik ten Hag’s request, they have tabled an offer worth £58million.

The 47-capped international can press, break play, make driving runs into the box and strike the ball with both feet. He can effectively play anywhere in the midfield and has proved to be effective in the attacking third.

In your opinion, should Man Utd sign Federico Valverde?
