Manchester United are interested in pursuing a future move for Santos midfielder Lucas Lima, according to his representative. Jose Mourinho’s side made fruitful business in the summer as they recruited the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof to their ranks.
In spite of this, Mourinho appears to be looking for further reinforcements with Lima emerging as a potential winter target. According to agent Luccas Badia, the likes of Inter Milan, AS Roma and Barcelona are monitoring the 27-year-old while United have expressed an interest in securing his client’s signature.
“Inter, Roma and Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Lucas, Manchester United want him. I think we would be well suited to the Serie A but we will see. His contract ends on 31 December and there are many clubs interested but I am not sure what Santos is trying to do,” he told Turkish outlet Haberturk.
Lima is an attacking midfield by trade, who can also feature on the wings, and he would be a good addition to the squad on a Bosman in January. The attacker has netted 19 goals in 192 outings for Santos across all competitions. He has also represented the Brazilian national side on 14 occasions since making his debut against Costa Rica in 2015.
