Man United willing to pay £49.8million to sign star – Report

Pau Torres and Sergio Ramos - Spain

Manchester United are once again linked with Spanish center half, Pau Torres, and this is not a surprise keeping in view our dismal performances at the back.

Yesterday, MEN revealed that the Red Devils have revived their interest in the Villarreal star in order to improve the backline for next season.

Transfer: Ten Hag pressing Man Utd to sign £111,000-a-week playmaker – Talks held

The renowned news outlet have mentioned that the 25-year-old defender would be willing to listen to offers in the summer transfer window.

Today, Catalan source, Nacional, have reported that Man Utd are willing to pay 60 million euros (£49.8million) to sign the La Furia La Roja star, who could end up replacing Maguire at Old Trafford.

It is stated that Torres has got a release clause of 75 million euros in his contract (expires in 2024) and the Yellow Submarine will study offers in the region of £49.8million for their prized asset.

The 17-capped international is the leader of the defense at Villarreal under the management of Unai Emery. Last season, he played a key role in helping the El Madrigal outfit win the Europa League. This term, he was fantastic in the Champions League against giants like Juventus and Bayern Munich.

It will be intriguing to see his performance when the Spanish side will collide against Liverpool in the semi-finals of the European Cup.

Manchester United have already conceded 48 goals in 33 league games this season and skipper Maguire has arguably been our worst defender. I think enough is enough and it is time for the former Leicester City man to leave.

In your opinion, should Man United sign Pau Torres to replace Harry Maguire?
