As per the latest reports coming from Germany, Man Utd have advanced to secure the signing Frimpong in the summer.

According to Sport Bild (via Sport Witness), the record English champions have stepped up their efforts to sign the 23-year-old star from the newly crowned Bundesliga champions.

The suitors will have to advance swiftly if they are to take advantage of the £35million release clause.

The German media outlet have mentioned that the termination clause will expire before the start of the European Championships in June.

Speaking about Man Utd’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong, famous Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, stated (via Caught Offside):

“Frimpong has a release clause, as already mentioned, so let’s see if United or any other club will decide to trigger it, but this will come later, as I understand nothing is happening now.”

The Oranje fullback, who can effectively play in the attacking third, has been sensational this term under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.

Frimpong has mainly featured as a right sided midfielder in Alonso’s 3-4-2-1 system, scored 13 goals and also provided 11 assists in all competitions.

He will certainly be an upgrade on Ten Hag’s current right back options, Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

In your opinion, should Man Utd pay £35million to secure the signing of Jeremie Frimpong?
