Man Utd are set to seal their first signing of the summer transfer window after agreeing a deal for Joshua Zirkzee.

If reports in Italy are to be believed then Man Utd have agreed a deal worth £48million to lure the Dutch international from Bologna.

According to Calcio Mercato, the 23-year-old forward’s contract has a release clause of 40 million euros but United have agreed to pay a fee of around 46 million euros.

The Old Trafford outfit will make payments in installments over three years. A percentage from 40 million euros would go to Bayern. However, Bologna will keep the extra 6 million euros.

AC Milan were extremely keen on luring Zirkzee but as per CM, they were not interested in paying the agent commission to get the deal over the line.

On the other hand, Man Utd have agreed to pay around 11 million euros commission along with the transfer fee and the part of the cash will go to Zirkzee’s family.

So, in total, Man Utd have agreed a deal worth 57 million euros, £48million, to seal their first signing of the summer.

The Netherlands international, who was part of Oranje’s Euro 2024 squad, is expected to undergo a medical examination today.

Apart from Palace, all the teams in the top half of the Premier League scored more goals than the Red Devils last season.

Hence, signing Zirkzee is a step in the right direction and should excite the supporters.
