According to Don Balon, Manchester United could agree a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar who has ‘already negotiated his exit’ from the Parc des Princes. The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, but United manager Jose Mourinho is pulling out all the stops to land his signature.
Neymar, who wears the No.10 jersey for PSG, joined the Ligue 1 giants from Barcelona last summer for a world-record £200m fee. The Brazilian international, who has scored 53 goals in 83 games for his country, is now valued at £354.1m by PSG but is trying to leave the club to join Barca, Real Madrid or United.
Surprisingly, Don Balon believe the latter are actually leading the three-way race for his signature, as Mourinho is prepared to make Neymar the highest-paid player in the world. A move to the Premier League ‘does not displease’ Neymar, according to the report, which would turn the Red Devils into title-challengers overnight if he signed.
Any deal would have to go through quickly this summer, as the forward doesn’t want his future unresolved when he’s at the World Cup. His asking price is likely to be the biggest obstacle as United might struggle to pay £354.1m. That’s not to say Neymar isn’t worth the outlay, however, as he scored and created 32 goals in 20 games as PSG won the Ligue 1 title by 13 points.
