Last month, the Old Trafford outfit submitted an initial bid of £35million to sign the player from the Goodison Park outfit.
However, the offer was turned down by the Merseysiders.
Now, as per reports (The Athletic), Man Utd moved in with a new offer worth £50million for Branthwaite and even that is expected to be rejected again by Everton.
The Toffees have made their decision and according to renowned Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, they have insisted on getting a fee of around £65m-£70m for their prized asset.
Man Utd conceded 58 goals in the Premier League last season. On the other hand, Everton, who ended the season seven places below the Red Devils, only let in 51 goals.
Even with a weaker squad, Dyche’s men were better in the defensive third and Branthwaite put in solid performances.
Maguire and Lindelof are past their primes, Varane is gone and Martinez has been injury prone. So, at least one top center half must be lured to improve Ten Hag’s backline.
The Red Devils are reportedly close to luring Matthijs de Ligt from Bayer Munich.
In your opinion, should Man Utd submit a third bid to lure Jarrad Branthwaite?
