Manchester United decided to bolster the CDM position by signing Casemiro from Real Madrid for a big fee back in 2022.

The 33-year-old enjoyed a promising debut campaign at Old Trafford but has been struggling ever since. So, the Red Devils opted to purchase Manuel Ugarte last summer and he is still finding his feet in the Premier League.

News – Man Utd prepared to submit £33.5million offer to sign La Liga star – Report

Man Utd are said to be open to cashing-in on Casemiro, while Christian Eriksen is set to leave the club upon the expiration of his current contract at the end of this season.

Therefore, Ruben Amorim’s side are planning to hire a new midfielder this summer. Italian outlet, Tutto Sport, claim that Man Utd have registered their interest in Atalanta star, Ederson, and have already tested the waters to secure his service.

Juventus and Manchester City are also in this race but the 20-time English champions are ready to play their cards to beat the competition over this deal.

La Dea don’t want to lose their star man for cheap with his existing contract set to run until 2027 and rejected a £34m offer last summer, now, they want around £50.3m.

The Brazilian has been playing in a double midfield pivot role under Gian Piero Gaspirini but is also comfortable as a single CDM and in the box-to-box role.

He has scored three goals and registered two assists in Serie A this term, and he also helped his side keep 11 clean sheets. Moreover, the 25-year-old scored an emphatic goal vs Barcelona in the Champions League league phase.

Casemiro has been struggling to cope with the intensity of the Premier League as his legs have gone, hence, hiring a new midfielder to replace him would be the right decision.

Ederson is a dynamic player and might be an ideal option to play in the Premier League. What do you think, should United lure the South American to bolster the engine room?
