According to Football Insider, the Blues are ready to sell the England star after failing to agree a new deal with him.
The media outlet have revealed that the chase for the 24-year-old is led by the Red Devils and their arch-rivals, Liverpool.
It is stated that the Old Trafford outfit are eager to lure the talented player, who has proven his worth in the Premier League and in Europe.
Mount has won three major trophies for Chelsea, all under previous manager Thomas Tuchel, and last season, he directly contributed in 29 goals for the PL giants.
Manchester United do have a top-quality central attacking midfielder in the form of Bruno Fernandes but they lack a creative star in the central midfield. Moreover, Ten Hag needs to improve the wide attacking positions.
It must be remembered that the Red Devils have not replaced record-signing, Paul Pogba, as yet. On the other hand, big-money winger signings, Sancho and Antony, have been highly inconsistent.
Mount would improve multiple positions as he can effectively play on the flanks and in the central/attacking midfield roles. Reports suggest that he could be lured for between £60-70million.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming months and will keep you updated.
