Manchester United may have received a huge blow in the transfer market as according to Corriere dello Sport Liverpool have an edge to sign Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen.
The Rome based outlet indicate that with Champions League football, the Reds are ahead of the Red Devils in the race to lure the Nigerian.

The 25-year-old has a release clause of £111m (130 million euros) in his contract and will only be sold if it is met
United need a new striker, definitely, and Victor Osimhen is seen as the proper replacement of Anthony Martial. However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Man Utd’s main undoing could be lack of CL football.
Osimhen has 17 goal contributions for Napoli this season, in 22 Serie A matches. He won the Golden Boot in the title winning last campaign.
As such, it is not only the two aforementioned English sides wooing the striker – Chelsea and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on him.
PSG have their long term interest in the forward, though they are offering 40 million euros less than the release clause. Moreover, Osimhen dreams to feature the Premier League.
Liverpool have not had a proper replacement of Sadio Mane, the future of Muhammad Salah is on the balance and Darwin Nunez is misfiring in front of goal. So, the Anfield club are pushing for Osimhen.
Man Utd’s struggles in front of goal remain apparent, with a goal difference of +1 in the Premier League. But while their interest in Victor Osimhen is realistic, luring him to Old Trafford without a Champions League football is a tall order.
Predictably, if both Liverpool and Man Utd come calling, the striker would ink his signature on the former’s papers to take part in Europe’s premier competition.
