However, the Red Devils have asked for assurances before they move in to make an official proposal for the Uruguayan international.

Araujo is in the process of renewing his contract with the Nou Camp outfit but he has important offers on the table.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Barca have made the defender aware they want him to stay at the club.

Last time, the 25-year-old defender turned down proposals from Man Utd and Chelsea to agree terms with Barcelona.

The 20-time English champions are intent on getting him this time and have told his entourage they are ready to present a formal offer if the player is willing to move to Old Trafford.

Champions League semi-finalists, Bayern Munich, are also waiting. The Bavarians were ready to bid 90 million euros in the winter.

However, neither Araujo nor Barca wanted the transfer to materialize in the middle of the season.

Unlike Bayern, the Red Devils will not be taking part in the Champions League next season, therefore they have to make a huge offer to convince the La Liga star to join.

Man Utd are ready to multiply the current salary of Araujo to secure his signing.
