The renowned news source have mentioned that the 22-year-old striker, who was previously linked with the Anfield side, has been looking to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer but the offers have been lacking for the player,

It is stated that the versatile forward, who can effectively play in the No.9 and Secondary striker’s role, would perfectly fit in the system that Ten Hag wants to cement at Old Trafford.

David’s current contract with Lille will expire in the summer of 2025 and as per Fabrizio Romano, an asking price of 50 million euros (£42.6million) has been slapped on him.

The former Gent boy was a key member of the Lille side that won the French league title in the 2020-21 campaign. He directly contributed in 16 goals in the competition. As far as last season is concerned, the youngster netted 19 goals in 47 appearances.

For Canada, so far, he has made 30 appearances and found the net 20 times. Back in 2019, he was the leading goal scorer in the Gold Cup.

Since 2013, no Man Utd star has managed to score 20 Premier League goals in a campaign. Big names like Rooney, Falcao, Zlatan and Ronaldo failed to achieve the feat at Old Trafford since the retirement of Alex Ferguson.

The Red Devils have to eventually replace Ronaldo with a young and quality forward, who will be here for the long term. Do you think Ten Hag should splash £42.6million to sign Jonathan David?
