Man Utd consider shock £50million+ signing of playmaker in summer – Report

Pedro Neto - Portugal

Manchester United were mainly linked with Jadon Sancho last summer but failed to hire his services. The England international is still in the lime light but reports suggest that the Red Devils have an alternative in sight.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Man Utd consider shock £50million+ signing of Pedro Neto in the summer transfer window.

Transfer: Man United strongly pressing to sign £34million star, who’d like OT move

The British outlet have mentioned that Dortmudn are refusing to lower their asking price of £100million for Sancho, on the other hand, City have jumped ahead of the Old Trafford outfit in the race to lure Jack Grealish.

In such a scenario, Solskjaer sees Neto as a serious alternative, who can strengthen his attack for next season.

The Portuguese international is one of the key members of the Wolves squad under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo. In the current campaign, so far, in 28 league starts, he has directly contributed in 9 goals (5 goals and 4 assists).

Neto made his senior international debut back in November last year against Andorra and was able to find the net for the Seleccao.

The 21-year-old playmaker is naturally a left winger and that is where he has mainly played for the Molineux outfit this season. However, he can effectively play on the right flank, as a secondary striker and even as a center forward if needed.

Such versatility can help Man Utd but the reality is that we need a world class right winger. We already have a top class left winger in the form of Rashford and an irreplaceable Fernandes in the No. 10 role. The likes of Greenwood and James are not good enough for the right wing position.

Therefore instead of splashing £50million+ on Pedro Neto, Man Utd should move to lure a proven quality right winger in the summer. In your view, who should Ole sign to strengthen the offense at Old Trafford?
