The north London side are the latest PL club to make contact for the Portuguese, something that United and the Anfield side have ‘already done’

CM Jornal claim Benfica are prepared to cash in on the 20-year-old defender if the suitors activate the current release clause in his contract i.e. £85.2million (100 million euros).

It is stated that Mikel Arteta’s side are pressing to ‘get ahead of the competition’ to bring the player, who wishes to join the Premier League, to the Emirates.

O Jogo, another famous Portuguese source, have covered a story and mentioned Man Utd as the only English club pushing to lure Silva.

They claim Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are looking to hire the youngster as well but the 20-time English champions will more likely move ‘forward’ to get the deal over the line.

In this summer, Benfica have defined Silva as the ‘most marketable player’ and will only sell him for £85.2million.

Man Utd need a long term replacement for four-time CL winner, Raphael Varane, do you think they should break the bank to sign Antonio Silva?
