Transfer: From Spain – £190,000-a-week star rejects club to secure Man United move
As per latest news coming from France (L’Equipe) Man Utd could launch an offer to finally sign Dembele in the summer but the Red Devils face competition from Chelsea.
The 23-year-old striker has been in top form in the Ligue 1 this term. So far, he has netted 16 league goals, 2 fewer than top scorer and PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.
In all competitions, the former Celtic star netted 22 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 appearances before the suspension of football due to corona virus outbreak.
Dembele proved his worth in England and had impressive time with Fulham in the Championship. After that, he excelled in the Scottish Premier League under the management of former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.
He scored 51 goals in 94 appearances for the Celts, won every major domestic prize and then opted to move to Lyon.
Manchester United badly need to improve their strike-force department. In the past few years, we have lost Ibrahimovic and Lukaku and as yet, we have not been able to appropriately replace them with top stars.
So, a quality goalscorer should be lured and in such a scenario, Moussa Dembele, who has got a proven track record, would be a top signing. The French forward’s current contract with the Ligue 1 club will expire in 2023 and he is valued at £90million (The Sun).
