Here we go again. Manchester United failed to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window much to the anguish of the supporters and now, reports suggest that we might try our luck in the winter transfer window.
According to MEN, Man Utd could move to finally sign the England international in January, however, Dortmund would not want to lose their prized asset in the middle of the campaign.
Transfer: Man Utd secured fee and agreed to pay £215,000-a-week, then this happened
So, the renowned media outlet have claimed that if the Red Devils fail in the winter, which seems likely, they will once again try to lure the Three Lions star in the summer transfer window next year.
The £190,000-a-week star (The Mail) scored and created goals for fun in the last camaign.
In all competitions, the former Man City player directly contributed in no fewer than 40 goals (20 goals and 20 assists) and we really need to secure his signing in the summer.
Last year, we splashed the cash to sign Daniel James from Swansea City. The Welsh international was our first choice right winger last season. He managed to score 3 goals in the first 4 league games, however, since then, the 22-year-old has failed to score even a single goal in the Premier League.
The only proven attacking player United managed to sign is Edinson Cavani, who was a free agent for weeks and will turn 34 next year. So, the Uruguayan is just a short term fix and sooner rather than later, we will have to sign prove center forward who would be able to serve the club in the long run.
Not luring Sancho was painful but failure to sign even an alternative shows how bad we were in the transfer window. Would we be able to finally get his signing done next year? Only time will tell.
