In the last two campaigns, Romelu Lukaku was Manchester United’s top scorer and we sold the Belgian international to Inter Milan in the summer transfer window without even replacing him.
The former Everton star is performing brilliantly for the Nerazzurri this term, on the other hand, we seriously lack quality and depth in our strike-force. So, the Old Trafford club should splash the cash to sign a quality goal-scorer in January.
Transfer: Report – Man United prepared to sign £40million playmaker in summer
Man Utd were heavily linked with Norwegian forward Erling Haaland but the teenager recently opted to leave RB Salzburg to join German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The Red Devils are now looking at other options to strengthen their strike-force in the winter transfer window and as per The Mail, Moussa Dembele is a strong alternative for Solskjaer.
We have been linked with Dembele for quite some time. Back in October, it was revealed (The Daily Record) that Man Utd made contact with Lyon to inquire about signing the Ligue 1 forward, who is valued at around 80 million euros (£68million).
The French international proved his worth in England with Fulham in the Championship and then won three Scottish league titles with Celtic. Now, he is performing well for Lyon.
Last season, he directly contributed in 20 goals (15 goals and 5 assists) in 21 league starts for the French club. This season, so far, he has netted 10 goals in 16 Ligue 1 starts.
As far as his international career is concerned, he has netted 13 goals in 25 appearances for the U-23 side and so far, he has not made his debut for the senior team.
In your view, is Moussa Dembele good enough to improve Man Utd’s strike-force in January?
