If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are interested in hiring the services of German international, Florian Wirtz.

According to a story published by Sport yesterday (news image provided below), Bayer Leverkusen will sell their prized asset in the coming months but Barcelona will not be able to afford his transfer.

The Catalan news source have mentioned that the 20-year-old playmaker will not wait for the Blaugrana, who have serious economic concerns.

The Bundesliga side want to achieve the biggest transfer in the club’s history and would demand a fee of around 85 million euros (£73.8million).

Sport claim Wirtz is going to have high offers from the Premier League with Man Utd, Man City and Newcastle interested looking to secure his signature.

It is stated that Bayern Munich want to partner the Kaiser with Jamal Musiala in the attacking third.

Wirtz is naturally a central attacking midfielder but he can effectively play on the flanks and even as a center forward if needed.

He had an injury hit last campaign but still managed to impress when fit. In all competitions, he started 19 games and directly contributed in 12 goals.

This season, so far, the versatile playmaker has netted three goals and provided four assists in ten appearances for Leverkusen, who are currently on top of the Bundesliga under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.

In your view, should Man Utd submit an offer worth £73.8million to sign Florian Wirtz?
