Manchester United need a young and quality central midfielder to finally replace Paul Pogba and they are heavily linked with Enzo Fernandez.
According to Record, Man Utd are crazy about securing the signing of the Argentine international, who has a release clause of 120 million euros in his contract, in winter.
Enzo has been selected in La Albiceleste’s 28-player preliminary squad for the World Cup and the Portuguese outlet claim that the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool are also interested in signing the 21-year-old midfielder.
Last season, the youngster scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in all competitions for River Plate and Benfica managed to secure his signing in the last transfer window.
The 2-capped international can effectively play anywhere in the center of the park and has impressed for the Liga Nos side, who are currently on top of the table with a lead of 8 points over arch rivals, Porto.
As far as the current campaign is concerned, so far, Fernandez has netted 3 goals and provided 4 assists in all competitions under the management of Roger Schmidt.
At Old Trafford, the likes of Fred, Casemiro and McTominay are not creative midfielders. Eriksen is a creative player but the Danish international is naturally a CAM/LW and Ten Hag has used the veteran as a deep lying playmaker.
Therefore, a creative central midfielder must be signed in the winter transfer window. Enzo Fernandez’s current market value is over £44million (Sport). Should Man Utd meet the valuation to secure his signing in January?
