Man Utd defender a target for Juventus, 24-year-old could replace Rugani

According to Tuttosport, Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is a target for Juventus. The Old Lady are reportedly lining up the Swedish international as a replacement for Daniele Rugani who could be on his way to Chelsea this summer. Even though he endured a difficult debut season at Old Trafford, it would be a somewhat of a surprise seeing Lindelof let go so soon after all the work and money spent to sign him.

Juventus have lined up a number of players who could replace Rugani – Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid), Stefan Savic (Atletico Madrid) and Matthijs de Ligt (Ajax) – but Lindelof might be the one who’s attainable. The 24-year-old joined from Benfica last summer and was inconsistent through the 2017/18 campaign. He made just 13 Premier League starts, spending the majority of the season on the bench or out of the matchday squad.

Juventus are unlikely to convince Godin to leave Atleti, they won’t convince the club to part with Savic, nor can they do the same with Ajax for de Ligt. Lindelof is a player who may spend the majority of this season on the periphery at United based on his form, but the faith manager Jose Mourinho showed upon buying him suggests he still has a chance at turning things around.
