Manchester United are consistently linked with Sporting CP attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes and the latest reports going on in the media seem highly positive.

According to The Sun, Man Utd are expected to agree a five year contract worth £26million that will make the player earn £100,000-a-week. The British source have revealed that the Portuguese international will finally complete his move to Old Trafford after playing in the derby contest vs Benfica on Friday night.

Transfer: £69million forward “would like to” sign for Manchester United – Reporter

Similarly, Nicolo Schira tweeted that the attacker will play his final game for the Lions vs the Primeira Liga leaders and after that, he will finalize his move to the Red Devils. The renowned Italian journalist further mentioned that Man Utd and the player’s agent fully expect the transfer to be completed.

So, if reports in the media are anything to go by, we can expect the highly rated Seleccao star to be a Man United player in the next few days.

Ideally, I would have liked Fernandes to join early enough to be ready for the crucial contest vs Liverpool but reports suggest (A Bola via Sport Witness) that the former Sampdoria star could watch the North West Derby from the stands.

Not to forget, Rashford, who has been our best player this term by some distance, suffered an injury last night vs Wolves and was taken off the field. If the England international is absent on Sunday then we will have more than a mountain to climb to get anything from Anfield against the European Champions, who have been in record breaking form this season.

We are the only club who have so far managed to stop them from winning in the Premier League in the current campaign. Can we do it again in their own backyard? Last season, Klopp’s men won 3-1 at Anfield.

Let’s hope that we can sign Bruno Fernandes this weekend and see him in action when the Red Devils face Burnley in the Premier League next week at Old Trafford.
