Man Utd have £70million ready to seal signings in January – There’s a twist

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Sad

In the summer transfer window, Manchester United splashed a lot of cash to reinforce their defense and the attack. They brought in top quality players but the results have been poor lately.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Daily Star, Man Utd have a transfer kitty of £70million ready for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to seal key signings in January.

However, there is a twist, the renowned British source have mentioned that the funds will only be available to the Norwegian manager if the Red Devils are in a position to seriously challenge for the Premier League title.

Yesterday, the Old Trafford outfit were defeated by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium and after eight fixtures, United are five points behind league leaders, Chelsea.

Next up, the European Champions will face bottom of the table Norwich side, on the other hand, Man Utd will collide against arch-rivals Liverpool, who are the only remaining unbeaten team in the league and are in red hot form.

So, the gap could increase next weekend and it must be remembered that after facing the Merseysiders, the Red Devils have to play against Spurs and reigning champions Manchester City.

If Ole’s men do not step up big time and earn victories in the crucial upcoming fixtures then it is highly likely that they will drop out of the title race come winter and then the £70million transfer kitty would not be granted to the manager.

Have your say – Is Solskjaer still the right man for the job? Should he get the funds to strengthen the squad in January?
