Man Utd have agreed “meaningless” terms to sign £80million star – Report

Branthwaite England

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite but the latest update on the saga suggests that the terms are “meaningless’.

According to a story published by iNews today, the Toffees are confident that the Old Trafford club will not be able to pay up to secure the signing of the 21-year-old defender.

Not so long ago, the Red Devils moved in with a bid worth £35million plus £8million objectives for the English center half.

However, the offer was immediately turned down by the Goodison Park outfit.

Since then, Man Utd are waiting for an indication from the Blues that they will be prepared to reduce the current asking fee of £80million.

As per iNews, there is absolutely ‘no chance’ the Toffees will lower the fee demanded, on the other hand, Man Utd are intent on not paying over the odds for signing Branthwaite.

It is stated that United reportedly agreed personal terms with the former Carlisle starlet, however, the agreement has been described by a dealmaker as “meaningless” as there is no deal between the two clubs.

Branthwaite has three years left on his deal and he is ‘committed to Everton’, who believe their prized asset is as valuable as Harry Maguire, for whom Man Utd sent £80million to Leicester five years ago.

So, with Ratcliffe determined not to pay up and the Toffees not budging from their valuation, the transfer saga is expected to end with the player staying at Merseyside.
