Manchester United might have been in a slumber party for almost the entirety of this month but seem to have finally snapped back to life with the club nearing on the signature of Lecce left wing-back Patrick Dorgu, who can solve a number of issues in Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Pending a medical, the Dane will be unveiled as a Manchester United player and he is exactly what the squad is crying out for.
News – Report – Man Utd ‘ready to’ seal deal and submit offer to sign £50million player
Having a naturally left-footed player playing on the left side of defense could provide a lot of upside.
Dorgu is also naturally attack-minded and loves to get forward. Unlike Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui who are more reserved in terms of profile, the Dane would get forward at every given opportunity and that’s exactly what the Portuguese tactician wants.
However, one swallow doesn’t make the summer and it looks like Man Utd have started working towards next season as well.
Now, as per A Bola, Man Utd have already ‘grabbed’ the signature of talented Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda.
Quenda plays for Amorim’s former club, Sporting CP and enjoyed an important role under the manager. Capable of playing both as a winger and wing-back, his versatility suits the project that the coach is trying to build at Old Trafford.
The report mentions that Sporting are bracing themselves for a bid of around £50.1m which they would deem sufficient for the youngster.
O Jogo claim that Liverpool and Man City are keen on signing the youngster, who dreams to move to the Premier League.
However, as per today’s edition of Correio da Manha Weekend, Man Utd ‘agree’ on the terms to sign Quenda, they will be paying 60 million euros to land the player in summer as Amorim promised not to lure any Sporting star in January.
Make no mistake, that is an astronomical fee to pay for a teenager but Man Utd need to trust Amorim on this one.
There are some players who already play at a high level despite their young age. Quenda might just turn out to be one of them and let’s wait and see if this transfer actually becomes official and Man Utd end up bringing the talented youngster to England next summer.
