Man Utd have been prepared to bid £20million for signing – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the first choice right back. He joined the club in a big-money deal from Crystal Palace two years ago.

On the other hand, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got Diogo Dalot as the second-choice RB. The Portuguese international played for AC Milan on loan last term and featured for the Seleccao at the European Championships.

Therefore, in my view, the Red Devils have ample quality and depth as far as the fullback positions are concerned. Still, they are continuously linked with Kieran Trippier.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Man Utd have been prepared to bid £20million to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur defender. They have held talks with Atletico Madrid, who are demanding a fee of £34million for their prized asset.

The attack-minded fullback is going to turn 31 next month, so, the asking price of £34million if very high in all fairness.

The Sun have further mentioned that now Arsenal have entered the race to sign the England international as well. The British source have reported that thus far, the north Londoners have not made a bid for the veteran player and they should offer more than £20million to have any chance of signing him.

Trippier had not won a single title in his career before moving to Atletico. He was a key member of the Rojiblancos squad that lifted the La Liga trophy last season. On the other hand, he was impressive at the European Championships as well (provided assist in the final vs Italy).

The ex Burnley man has ample Premier League experience under his belt and signing him would definitely improve the backline at Old Trafford. In your view, is he really worth £34million?
