Manchester United have already completed one major signing this summer and if reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have moved in to secure another signing.
According to AS, Man United have tabled an offer to sign Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid. The 23-year-old left back was in top form for Sevilla (on loan) and helped them win the Europa League title.
Transfer: £8million contract agreed – Man Utd in advanced talks to sell player for £16-£18million – Journalist
The famous Spanish outlet have mentioned that the likes of Juventus, Tottenham and Napoli have shown interest in the fullback but the Old Trafford outfit and Sevilla are best placed to hire his services.
AS further stated that Man Utd have an edge over the Spanish side because they could make a significant offer to sign the defender on permanent basis whereas Sevilla are looking to lure him on loan again.
Reguilon featured in 38 games in all competitions under the management of Julen Lopetegui last season and not only was he solid at the back, he was also productive in the attacking third.
The youngster helped Sevilla keep 21 clean sheets and also directly contributed in 8 goals in all competitions (3 goals and 5 assists). Not to forget, he provided a crucial assist in the Europa League semi final against Manchester United.
At Old Trafford, first choice LB Luke Shaw has been at the club for 6 years but on and off, he has spent time on the treatment table. On the other hand, teenage Brandon Williams is still not ready to start week in week out in the Premier League.
In such a scenario, Sergio Reguilon would be a quality addition and Solskjaer should push to sign him. As per AS, Real Madrid would prefer to sell him for a fee of 30 million euros (£26.7million) with an option to buy him back in future. Not sure the Red Devils would be okay with a buyback clause.
I so much agree with this transfer about a left back. Luke is superb but on fitness not trusted,so bringing Reguilon to United would help give Williams a better chance for him to become ready in future ,Shaw is not trusted in fitness,so this is really a good one for united
