Manchester United were looking to secure the signing of Ousmane Dembele in the summer transfer window but in the end, the French international stayed at the Nou Camp.
If the latest reports going on in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are once again after the Les Bleus star and could move to finally sign him in the January transfer window.
Transfer: Man United prepared to move to secure signing of £71million attacker – Face competition
According to Mundo Deportivo, Man Utd have made contact to sign the 23-year-old from Barcelona, who are aware that the Old Trafford outfit are making discreet movements to hire his services in winter.
The renowned Spanish outlet have claimed that the Catalan giants would welcome his departure if a decent offer arrives but the 20-time English champions are not willing to splash around 70-80 million euros to get his signing done.
Dembele’s current contract with the La Liga giants will expire in 2022 and MD claim that the offer of renewal is on the table but the player has not accepted it as yet.
The World Cup winning star has never been able to showcase his top form for Barca on regular basis due to consistent injury concerns.
Even last season, he spent majority of the time on the treatment table. As far as this season is concerned, fortunately, he has stayed fit and so far, he has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 10 appearances under the management of Ronald Koeman (Transfermarkt).
Still, it must be taken into consideration that Dembele has only started 5 games and completed 90 minutes only once this term because Koeman does prefers other options.
Therefore, it is better for him to leave Barcelona in order to play regular first team football. Man United failed to sign a right winger in the summer but should they move to finally lure the £215,000-a-week French star in January (The Sun)?
