Man Utd have made contact to sign £31.4million star – Face competition

Mourinho-vs-Solskjaer

Manchester United need to strengthen their midfield department in the summer transfer window and a versatile Frenchman is on their radar.

According to Mohamed Bouhafsi, Man Utd have made contact with the entourage of Corentin Tolisso to hire his services in the summer transfer window.

Transfer: £250,000-a-week attacker offered to Manchester United – Report

The renowned French journalist, who works for RMC Sport, has stated that even Inter Milan are interested in signing the Bayern Munich star, who would be allowed to leave the German giants in the summer for a fee of 35 million euros (£31.4million).

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils have not reinforced their midfield department. The last first team midfielder was lured by Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese boss signed Brazilian international Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer transfer window of 2018.

Since then, the current Norwegian manager has lost midfielders like Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.

To make matters worse, record signing Pogba has been injury prone this term and therefore, the Old Trafford outfit have not been good enough in the center of the park.

So, it is evident that the midfield must be improved. The question is, should United move to sign Corentin Tolisso?

The Les Bleus star had an impressive 2016-17 season with Lyon and Bayern opted to break the bank to sign him. In his first season with the Bundesliga champions, he directly contributed in 17 goals and earned a place in the French national squad that eventually won the World Cup in 2018.

However, last season, the 25-year-old spent a lot of time on the treatment table and was able to make only 4 appearances for the Bavarians. This term, he has warmed the bench more often than not and currently, he is out with an ankle injury.

So, the most recent record is not good enough and therefore, Man United should look elsewhere to improve their midfield. What do you think?
