Man Utd in contact to sign £34million play breaker, could submit bid – Journalist

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have ample quality and depth as far as the backline and the attack are concerned. However, they need to improve things in the midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got several creative central and attacking midfielders but the Norwegian coach does not have a top play breaker. Therefore, he must move to sign one this month before the deadline ends.

Transfer: Man Utd told £51million will get signing done – Player wants Old Trafford move

As per multiple journalists, the Red Devils are interested in hiring the services of French defensive midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni, who plays for AS Monaco.

Belgian journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, has recently confirmed that Man Utd are in contact with the representatives of the 21-year-old boy and they could move in with an opening bid to hire his services in the summer transfer window.

On the other hand, Duncan Castles has stated that the youngster is one of the options to replace record signing Paul Pogba at Old Trafford. The renowned Sunday Times reporterr told the Transfer Window Podcast:

“If they (Man Utd) have that space in their squad created by Pogba, then Tchouameni is one of the options to replace. He would be cheaper than options like Declan Rice, who has been mentioned as an option for them. I’m told Monaco value him at around €40m (£34million).”

Last season, Tchouameni featured in 36 league games for the Ligue 1 side and helped them keep 14 clean sheets while mainly featuring in the holding midfield role. Moreover, he also managed to directly contribute in 6 goals (2 goals and 4 assists).

With veteran and bench warmer, Nemanja Matic, past his best, it is time for Ole to replace the Serbian international. Do you think Man Utd should bid £34million to sign Aurelien Tchouameni?
