Man Utd have made contact to sign £50million player – Face competition

Rice and Sancho for England

Manchester United have been interested in signing Declan Rice for quite some time and the latest reports going on in the media are intriguing.

Ian McGarry has stated that with the managerial change at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are no longer looking to lure the West Ham star.

The transfer expert claimed that the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool have already made contact with the agent of the player to hire his services in the summer transfer window.

McGarry told Transfer Window Podcast:

“Both (Man United and Liverpool) of whom have expressed interest to Rice’s agent as we understand and they have asked to be kept informed of any offers made for the England international.”

At Anfield, Klopp has got players like Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago who can effectively play in the defensive midfield role. So,the 22-year-old play breaker might not regularly start if he opts to join the reigning PL champions.

We are 6 points above the Reds at the moment but clearly lack a specialist defensive midfielder. Therefore, under Solskjaer, Rice can expect to play week in week out.

Matic is our only natural holding midfield star but the former Chelsea player is past his best and must be offloaded. Rice, who has been in terrific form for the Hammers this term, could be a long term replacement for the Serbian international.

As per an exclusive story covered by 90min last month, due to the financial implications of the coronvarius pandemic, West Ham may drop Rice’s price tag to £50million in the summer.

In your opinion, should Man Utd move in to secure his signing?

  1. Yes I would like Rice at United and maybe if West Ham where up for it, a Lingard plus cash deal might be doable. Other options are Camavinga from Rennes or Ndidi of Leicester
