Manchester United have not replaced Romelu Lukaku as yet and Odion Ighalo, who netted his first goal last night, is just a temporary fix at Old Trafford. Reports suggest that we have moved in with a proposal to sign a top striker.

According to The Athletic, Man Utd have made an offer to sign RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who has got a release clause of £51million, which will expire in April.

Transfer: Man United one of the favorites to sign £83,000-a-week star – Report

The Athletic have claimed that even Barcelona have made a move for the German international, who is mainly waiting on Liverpool. It is mentioned that the European Champions would likely start negotiations with Leipzig next month in order to secure his signing.

So, the competition is heavy and it seems that at the moment, the Anfield club is in pole position to hire the services of the 23-year-old center forward.

Werner has been in brilliant form for the Bundesliga club this term. In all competitions, he has so far made 33 appearances and directly contributed in no fewer than 38 goals (27 goals and 11 assists).

The former Stuttgart striker has already made 29 appearances for the German national team and scored 11 goals under the management of Joachim Low.

At Old Trafford, we do need to sign a proven quality out and out forward in the summer and Werner perfectly fits the bill. However, in all honesty, at the moment, Liverpool are a much more attractive option than us and it will not come as any surprise to see the Kaiser join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

In your opinion, who should Man Utd sign to strengthen their strike-force?

  1. Cavani is the right player for united center forward,he would be a surprise to everyone.. Cavani can do the impossible, he is a goal machine as Robbin said earlier..

  2. We need Jadon Sancho and Moussa Dembele in place of Lukaku & Sanchez. If they are unavailable then we can sign Loutero Martinez or Dries Martens/Raul Jimenez/Diego Jota.

  3. Cavani maybe a good option, but not needed. We have all takes to succeed. All that is needed is to get rid of deadwoods like Lingard, Pereira, and Luke Shaw and replace them with quality players like Grealish, Madison and Max Aarons. These will add quality and dept to the squad.
