Another day, another story linking Manchester United with French international and Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele.
According to Sport (press image provided below) the Les Bleus star has entered the decisive week as far as his future at the Nou Camp is concerned.
Transfer: Man United ready to submit bid to sign £59.7million star – Report
The Spanish news source have mentioned that the Catalan giants will move forward in order to extend the player’s stay at the club. It must be remembered that he will be out of contract in June and can agree a pre-contract to move elsewhere next month.
It is stated that several proposals are on the table, one of them is from Man Utd, and his agent is consistently trying to convince his client to leave Xavi’s team.
Dembele moved to Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. He was brilliant for the German club under the management of Thomas Tuchel. However, since moving, injuries have halted his progress.
The £196,000 a week star (Marca) missed majority of the last campaign due to injury and even in the current campaign, he has mainly spent time on the treatment table and made just four appearances as yet.
Dembele is mainly a winger and Man Utd already have players like Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, Lingard, summer signing Sancho and Ronaldo who can effectively play on the flank. In such a scenario, there is no need to sign a winger, especially an injury prone player.
