Camavinga Mbappe

Manchester United have been in search of a midfielder this summer and they really need to sign one before the end of the transfer deadline.

Once again, the name of Eduardo Camavinga is in the lime light. As per the latest reports going on in the media, Man Utd have moved forward to secure the signing of the Frenchman.

Transfer: Man United intent on signing £42.7million star before deadline – Report

Last month, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Red Devils have made direct contact with people close to the player to get his signing done. Now, as per Duncan Casltes, the Old Traffird outfit have stepped up efforts to lure the Rennes starlet. The renowned journalist told the Transfer Window Podcast:

“United are looking at other individuals [to Atletico star Saul Niguez]. I’m told that they have accelerated their interest in Eduardo Camavinga over the last week.”

Camavinga is an energetic player, who loves breaking play, making tackles and is comfortable in possession as well. He rose to fame last season after putting in top performances for the Ligue 1 side. In September he was selected to play for France by Deschamps and he managed to score an acrobatic goal on his debut start.

However, his performances in the second half of the campaign were average and therefore, he did not feature at the European Championships for the Les Bleus. His current contract with Rennes will expire in just over 10 months and he is valued (L’Equipe) at around 40 million euros (£34.3m).

As far as the current campaign is concerned, the 18-year-old has so far started just a single game in the Ligue 1 (opening fixture) and played for just 14 minutes each in the last two league games. He has mainly been on the bench due to the uncertain future (Ouest France).

Man United need a quality player to break play and pull the strings in the center of the park. In your opinion, should they bid £34.3m to sign Eduardo Camavinga?

  1. If the choice is Camavinga or Trippier for £35m, then it has to be Camavinga, plain and simple.

Let Aaron Wan-Bissaka do what he does best, defend and plug that vulnerable eyesore at DM with a proven ball-playing play breaker, freeing Pogba and Fernandes to do what they do best, create.

Not as if we’re lacking attacking options now, is it?

If Dalot not considered good enough cover for Aaron, then bring back Axel Tuanzebe as cover for RB/CB. The attack is sorted, and some, so we need a naturally defensive mobile dynamic midfielder, to ensure we can defend and don’t look a shambles doing so.
