Apart from Trippier, Tottenham have managed to hold on to their key players this summer but reports suggest that one of their star attackers is currently in talks with Manchester United.
According to AS, Man Utd have offered a five-year deal to Christian Eriksen to make him earn close to what Pogba gets at Old Trafford.
At the moment, the 27-year-old star is only earning £80,000-a-week (Mirror Sport) at Tottenham. On the other hand, United’s record signing, Pogba, is getting (The Star) £290,000-a-week. So, this means that United are are ready to hand Eriksen a huge pay rise to complete his move.
Transfer: Done – Man Utd agree £142.4million worth deals to seal signing
The Spanish source have stated that the Denmark international is convinced by The Red Devils’ project and is seriously valuing to accept their proposal.
Eriksen is without doubt one of the best players in the Premier League, who can effectively play anywhere in the attacking third. He has won the Danish Player of the Year prize on no fewer than four occasions.
Last season, the former Ajax man made 51 appearances for the north Londoners in all competitions, scored 10 goals and provided 17 assists.
In the 2017-18 campaign, the versatile playmaker made it to the PFA Team of the Year after directly contributing in 21 goals in 37 games under the management of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
So far, United have only signed young Daniel James for their attacking department. Luring a proven quality star like Eriksen would surely amplify the quality of their offense.
His current contract with the Champions League runners-up will expire in less than a year and AS claim that Spurs want £60million if he moves to an English club.
We do know that Daniel Levy is one of the toughest men to negotiate with and back in June, Mirror Sport revealed that the Spurs chairman wants £100million for the club’s prized asset.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days.
