Imagine having to pay out of your pocket to ensure that a player who is in your squad can leave for a different club.
It’s a very strange position to be in but that is exactly what Manchester United have to agree to if they are keen on letting Sancho go.

As per today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, Juventus, who have been interested in signing Sancho for quite some time now want to take the English winger on a dry loan [doesn’t include obligation to buy] and are willing to pay only 35% of his salary.
Sancho earns around €10m per year on his current contract with Manchester United. If Juventus are willing to pay only 35%, the Red Devils will have to bear 65% of the 24-year-old’s salary which works out to be around £125,000 a week.
This means that the £40m star would be Man Utd’s 10th highest earner on the payroll despite not playing for the club.
It’s a ridiculous situation to find themselves in and not one the Red Devils would have envisioned when they signed Sancho all those years ago.
Rather than agree to this, Man Utd would be better off looking elsewhere to sell Sancho or worst case, end up keeping him themselves. Sending him to Juventus on the terms that the Italian giants want is a loss for us.
When Sancho buried the hatchet with Ten Hag and returned to training, everyone thought it was his shot at redemption in a Red Devils jersey. However, his only noteworthy involvement so far this season was a missed penalty that lost his side the Community Shield.
Both the player and the club will want to make a clean break this summer and move on from a transfer that just hasn’t worked out.
It remains to be seen if any other club makes an offer for Sancho in the remaining hours of Deadline Day. If not, the 24-year-old could get a chance to revive his Old Trafford career but that looks bleak as things stand.
