Report – Man Utd have to seal £52.3million deal to secure signing

Goncalo Inacio - Portugal

Another day, another story linking Manchester United with Goncalo Inacio, who has been top class for Sporting CP.

Last night, the Red Devils conceded four goals in the defeat against Copenhagen and are now on the brink of elimination from the Champions League.

The injury concerns at the back have troubled Erik ten Hag but even his current crop of defenders have played poorly.

Therefore, the Old Trafford outfit must reinforce the defense in the winter transfer window and the name of Inacio is on the radar.

As per today’s version of O Jogo (news image provided below), Ruben Amorin does not want to lose his prized asset in the middle of the campaign.

Sporting are currently on top of the Primeira Liga table and losing Inacio would be a massive blow. However, the club will not be able to stop him if the release clause of £52.3million is met.

The news source have mentioned that Man Utd, Liverpool and Real Madrid are interested in signing the central defender and the Lions’ manager has made his stance clear regarding the sale of his players.

Amorim stated:

“If they pay the release clause, they have to go, if they don’t pay, no one will leave,”

Hence, Man Utd have to seal a deal worth £52.3million by activating the release clause if they want to sign Inacio in January.

In all fairness, considering the ongoing conundrum at the back, they must meet the asking price and sign the 22-year-old. What do you think?
