Man Utd have to sign “incredible” Liverpool target to replace star

Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba was linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window but in the end, he stayed put.

However, speculations are still going on in the media about the future of the French international, who could depart Old Trafford in the winter transfer window.

According to ESPN, United are confident that Pogba’s future lies at the club but they have opted to shelve contract talks till the Les Bleus midfielder is settled.

Pogba has been inconsistent for the Red Devils since returning to the club in 2016. Moreover, he has got a big mouth. So, United should look to sell him to the highest bidder in the January transfer window and sign a replacement.

In my opinion, Man Utd should replace Pogba by signing his compatriot Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old star is a versatile talent, who can play in multiple midfield positions like Pogba. Last season, he played a pivotal role in helping PSG win the title, however, Deschamps opted to not select him in France’s World Cup squad.

Furthermore, his contract with the Ligue 1 champions will expire next year and therefore, he will not cost a lot. Capable of playing as a defensive, creative and an attacking midfielder, Rabiot has what it takes to replace Pogba at Old Trafford.

This season, so far, he has scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist in 5 games for the French giants.

It must be remembeted that United’s rivals Liverpool are also interested in signing Rabiot. Ligue 1 expert Julien Laurens believes that the midfielder is an “incredible talent” and could be a quality addition for the Reds (Mirror Sport).

In all fairness, Jose Mourinho must act swiftly to snap up Rabiot.
