Manchester United have been one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League over the last decade but their on-field displays have gone from bad to worse.

So, They have now found themselves in financial difficulties. Moreover, considering the Red Devils have been in the bottom half of the table this season, they are set to miss out on the Champions League money, unless they miraculously qualify for this competition by winning the Europa League.

Therefore, it has been reported that United are looking to raise funds by selling their stars. They attempted to do that in the winter window and transfer listed Antony and Marcus Rashford.

But, Ruben Amorim’s side couldn’t find permanent buyers for them, hence the duo was allowed to leave on loan.

Now, GiveMeSport report that Man Utd want to hire a new midfielder ahead of next season as a potential replacement for struggling Casemiro and are interested in Borussia Dortmund star, Felix Nmecha.

The German side don’t want to let the 24-year-old leave the club for anything less than £40m with his existing deal set to run until 2028.

Amorim’s side might find it difficult to get the deal done by matching Dortmund’s asking price amid their financial difficulties. Therefore, They are hoping Aston Villa will activate Rashford’s £40m buy option to make his loan deal permanent, which will fund the Nmecha deal.

Additionally, the Red Devils are looking to sell Casemiro to remove him from the wage bill and are hoping that Chelsea will sign Jadon Sancho permanently.

The Dortmund star is a talented player and is comfortable in the defensive midfield position as well as in the box-to-box role. However, he has been out injured with a ligament issue since January.

Moreover, he was unavailable for selection for more than 20 games due to various fitness problems last term.

So, in all fairness, Man Utd, who have suffered already due to multiple injury concerns, shouldn’t go for an injury-prone player like Nmecha.
