Manchester United were able to keep a clean sheet vs Chelsea but overall, they have been highly inconsistent at the back under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian manager is in search of a central defender and the name of Nikola Milenkovic is in the focus.

Last week, Corriere dello Sport covered a story and claimed that the Serbian central defender is tempted by a the opportunity of playing for the 20-time English champions.

More recently, the renowned Italian outlet (press image provided below) have published another report and stated that the the situation of Milenkovic’s contract, which will expire in 2022, has created an opportunity for the suitors to hire his services.

CdS claim that Man Utd are getting louder and increasingly pushing to bring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford.

Last month, La Repubblica (via CM) revealed that it would take a fee of 35 million euros (£30million) to get his signing done in the summer transfer window.

At Man Utd, as far as the current central defense is concerned, Tuanzebe is inexperienced, Bailly has mainly been injury prone and the likes of Lindelöf and Maguire have not been consistent at the back.

OT legend Neville stated recently that the Swedish international’s and the Man Utd skipper are not good central defensive partners, so, the club should sign a commanding center half to strengthen the department.
