Manchester United tried hard to lure Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2020 but the move could not happen.
Renowned journalist, Fabrizio Romano even confirmed that the Old Trafford outfit had agreed a contract with the England international. This time around, reports indicate that the Red Devils remain intent on signing him and can lure him for a reduced fee.
Transfer: Man Utd ready to submit offer to sign £200,000-a-week player – Report
According to Sky Sports, Man Utd are still keen on hiring the services of the 21-year-old star, who has already played over 100 Bundesliga games for BvB and has consistently impressed.
The renowned British outlet have mentioned that last summer, the German side were demanding a fee of £108million to part ways with the winger. However, this time around, they could accept an offer of £80million.
It is further stated that Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca and Man City are interested in signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund but they are not prepared to sell him for a fee less than £150million. Next year, the Norwegian international would be available for just £65million (release clause).
Coming back to Sancho, Sky claim that the BvB has agreed to sell the winger if the conditions are met to secure his signature. On the other hand, the 18-capped international’s preference is to join a club that will take part in the Champions League next season.
Man Utd are currently second in the Premier League table and have almost booked their place in the Europe’s elite competition for next term and it must be remembered that they are in the final of the Europa League and the winners of the competition automatically qualify for the CL.
Solskjaer has been looking to strengthen the right wing position for some time and Sancho would be a brilliant signing for the long term. The Three Lions star has directly contributed in at least 30 goals in every single season since moving to Germany. Will Ole be able to finally secure his signing this summer? We shall see.
For me, Jadon Sancho is quite expensive for m80 pounds instead we go for a cheaper player that can offer what he can offer us. Areas of focus should be a forward, a center back and a defensive midfielder. For now, we have plenty wide players like Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and James. Right and left full backs need to be considered as well. We are lucky that Shaw and Wan Bissaka are injury free for now, otherwise we would have had issues with the two positions if it was the other way round. Shaw has somewhat replacement but Wan Bissaka does not have. I’m of the opinion that Dalot returns from loan in AC Milan next season as he can play the both positions very. well.
