Manchester United are consistently linked with Pau Torres and reports coming from Spain seem positive.
According to La Razon, Man Utd have made contact with the entourage of the Villareal defender and they know that the player is ready to secure a move to Old Trafford.

However, the Spanish outlet have mentioned that as per the sources close to the player, he does not have any such wish to join the Red Devils.
La Razon claim that whether or not the player wants to move to the 20-time English champions, the El Madrigal outfit will only sell their prized asset if his release clause of 65 million euros (£56million) is met.
It is stated that that La Liga side have made it clear that they do not want any player(s) in exchange for Pau Torres, instead, they want this clause to be activated or else the player will not be sold.
So far, Man Utd have conceded 34 goals in 31 PL games, on the other hand, league leaders and rivals Man City have only let in 21 goals in 32 league fixtures. The Red Devils need to match their rivals on both offensive and defensive areas if they are to seriously challenge for the title next season.
For now, the Old Trafford outfit are 11 points behind the Sky Blues, who have played a game more. So, they need Guardiola’s men to lose majority of the remaining games to have a strong chance of winning the title this season. Let’s not keep our hopes too high.
Man Utd do need to improve the quality and depth of their central defense. They have already spent a lot to strengthen the CB positions in recent years but they still need a leader at the back.
Pau Torres has been the leader of the backline at Villareal and is now becoming an important player for the La Furia Roja as well. Do you think, Man Utd should activate the £56million clause to get his signing done in the summer?
