Man United lead to finally secure signing of £34million star – Report

Manchester United are consistently linked with central defenders and once again, Nikola Milenkovic is in the lime light.

The Fiorentina star will be out of contract next year and reports suggest that he has no plans of signing a new deal. Therefore, he could leave the Italian side in the next transfer window.

Transfer: Report – Man Utd prepared to make offer to sign £34.2million player – Face competition

Milenkovic was first wanted at Old Trafford when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club. However, the interest in the former Partizan man cooled down when the Portuguese boss was shown the exit door (ESPN). Now, reports suggest that Man Utd lead to finally secure his signing.

According to La Nazione (via Sport Witness), the Viola are prepared to sell the Serbian international in the summer and both Manchester clubs are after his signature.

The Italian outlet have claimed that it is highly likely that the player will leave the Serie A side and Man Utd are leading the Sky Blues to hire his services.

As far as the fee is concerned, it is stated that it would take an offer in excess of 35 million euros to get his signing done and Fiorentina could settle for £34million (40 million euros).

Milenkovic has featured in 27 games for the senior national side thus far and couple of days back, he played for full 90 minutes in Serbia’s 3-2 victory over Ireland (World Cup qualification fixture). It will not come as any surprise to see him start when the Serbs collide against Portugal tomorrow night.

In the Serie A, the 6 ft 4 center back has not been at his best for a struggling Viola side, who are just 7 points above the relegation zone after 28 games. Do you think Man Utd should move to secure his signing?
