However, the Italian media outlet have mentioned the 26-year-old defensive midfielder has always preferred a move to Old Trafford.

It is stated that Man Utd are in the lead and will soon move, probably this week, by offering a fixed fee of 26-27 million euros (£23.2m) plus bonuses to finally sign Amrabat.

Corriere Fiorentino claim the above mentioned figures should be enough to get the ‘Yes’ from the Viola for the transfer.

Manchester United have already signed a creative midfielder in the form of Mason Mount and are now focusing on strengthening the defensive midfield position.

The likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny Van de Beek are linked with moves away from Old Trafford and if the trio depart, then depth in the center of the park must be improved by Ten Hag.

In such a scenario, a proven quality and solid play breaker like Sofyan Amrabat would be a top addition. We shall see how the saga unfolds and will keep you up to date.
