As per the latest reports going on in the media, Man Utd have the lead and would even double the salary to sign the Nigerian international from Napoli.

According to Il Mattino, the Red Devils have a slight edge over Newcastle and PSG as they already made contact to sign the African center forward last summer.

The Italian news source claim the Serie A top scorer, who has 23 goals to his name, currently earns a salary of 4.5 million euros per season i.e. around £75,000 a week.

It is reported the likes of Man United and other suitors would easily pay him well over 10 million euros per season to secure his signature.

Il Mattino claim that the Italian champions cannot and does not want to pay him the above mentioned figures to extend his stay at the club.

However, to let their prized asset leave, club president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, will ask for an enormous fee of 160 million euros.

If the suitors think the amount is “crazy” then they should not approach Napoli. 160 million euros is the starting price for the auction to take place this summer.

The record Serie A sale happened back in 2016 when Man United opted to splash 105 million euros to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Should they now break the club transfer record to recruit Victor Osimhen?
