According to Bild, Man United have already expressed their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Denis Zakaria. The likes of of Dortmund, Inter Milan, Spurs and Bayern are also looking to hire the services of the talented midfielder.

The renowned German source have claimed that currently, Xhaka’s move to Arsenal for 45 million euros is Monchengladbach’s record transfer (sale) but Zakaria could go for more. It is stated that the Bundesliga club would demand a fee of over 50 million euros (£43million) for their prized asset next summer.

The 22-year-old is mainly a defensive midfielder but he can effectively play in the creative central midfield role as well.

In the current campaign, the youngster has so far featured in 7 league games and scored 1 goal for the German side, who are currently on top of the league after winning four games on the trot.

Zakaria made his debut for the senior national side back in 2016 and so far, he has made 24 appearances and scored 3 goals for Switzerland. Praising his compatriot, Monchengladbach goal keeper Yann Sommer said (Bild):

“Unbelievable, what makes him progress! He’s so important to our team.”

United do need a solid play breaker for the long term because Serbian international Nemanja Matic is past his best and normally warms the bench. In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to lure Denis Zakaria?
