Manchester United have a huge summer ahead of them. Ruben Amorim needs to find reinforcements to make the squad stronger and capable of competing in the Premier League. The Portuguese tactician doesn’t have much room for error right now.

Having had two disastrous seasons, the next one could be make-or-break for Man Utd. It helps that they still retain the pull to attract top players in the Premier League and elsewhere, despite failing to qualify for European competitions next season.

Man Utd have already completed their first signing of the summer. The Red Devils have agreed a deal with Wolves to sign Matheus Cunha, and the Brazilian is moving to Old Trafford after a very good Premier League campaign.

One other player that Man Utd are interested in signing if Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo. Now, as per ESPN, United have increased their offer and bid over £60m to finally get their man.

As per today’s version of The Mirror, the bid is their last offer. Their previous offer of £45m plus £10m in add-ons was rejected by Brentford but their current bid is closer to the London club’s valuation.

Brentford’s talisman

Mbeumo spent much of his time at Brentford in the shadow of Ivan Toney but once the Englishman left to move elsewhere, Thomas Frank needed a talisman and the 25-year-old stepped up.

In 42 games across all competitions, he scored 20 goals and provided nine assists.

Predominantly a right-winger who loves to cut in on his left foot, Mbeumo is also capable of playing through the middle.

In Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, the Cameroonian international could also play as a wing-back on either side.

It is worth noting that Mbeumo has a contract with Brentford until 2026 with an additional optional year.

The 25-year-old would be an excellent addition to the Red Devils and let’s wait and see if the club wrap up a deal for him in the coming weeks.
