Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield department and French international Adrien Rabiot is on their radar.
According to Le10Sport, Man Utd have made an offer to agree terms worth £9million-a-year with the PSG star. Moreover, the Red Devils are also prepared to pay a signing on fee of £4.4million to lure him.
Transfer: Deal close – £22million star likely to secure Man Utd move
The French outlet have stated that the likes of Spurs and Juventus are also looking to hire the services of the Les Bleus star but Man Utd would be ready to do anything to beat the competition.
Opinion
Rabiot will be out of contract at the end of this month, so, he is looking to get the best deal for himself.
It must be noted that the Red Devils will be playing in the Europa League next season. On the other hand, the likes of Spurs and The Old Lady can offer him Champions League football.
Therefore, for United, the best possible way of beating competition is by offering the midfielder a starring role in the team, along-with a decent pay package.
Not to forget, Herrera is going to leave the club in the summer and Solskjaer needs a versatile midfielder to replace the Spaniard. In such a scenario, Rabiot, who can play anywhere in the center of the park, would be a top addition.
At only 24, he has already made over 200 appearances in French football. Moreover, so far, he has made 6 appearances for the senior national team as well.
The major concern regarding the player is his attitude problem. Last year, Deschamps opted to keep Rabiot on the stand-by list for the World Cup. The midfielder was furious with the manager’s decision and withdrew himself from the list of reserves (Goal).
Back in March, when United ousted PSG from the Champions League, the midfielder was enjoying in a nightclub and the Ligue 1 champions opted to ban him (L’Equipe).
Rabiot has not played for the French club since the turn of the year and he made his last appearance way back in December (5th) against Strasbourg.
So, I think United should look elsewhere to strengthen their midfield as there is no need to lure a player who has got serious attitude concerns.
